LONDON (AFP) -- British energy giant BP said Friday it had located further oil at a well in a deepwater field in offshore Angola.
The Urano well, the 10th discovery BP has made on the so-called Block 31, flowed at a rate of 1,970 barrels per day, the company said in a statement.
BP is the operator of the block with a 27 percent stake. Its partners include Esso Exploration and Production, Sonangol, Statoil, Marathon International Petroleum, and Total unit TEPA.
Block 31 covers an area of 5,349 square kilometers and lies in water depths of between 1,500 and 2,500 meters.
